What is podiatry care?
Pedicurezorg focuses on keeping feet healthy. A medical pedicurist provides professional foot care for skin and nail problems and helps to prevent foot wounds and other complications as much as possible in people at increased risk of them.

What does a medical pedicurist do?
A medical pedicurist specialises in the care and treatment of high-risk feet and complex foot problems. During a treatment session, we assess the condition of your feet and determine what care is required at that time.
During the treatment, the chiropodist checks your feet carefully and identifies any changes that require extra attention. This often allows problems to be recognised at an early stage.
The medical pedicurist treats, amongst other things:
- calluses, corns and cracked skin;
- thickened or fungal nails;
- ingrown toenails;
- pressure points that can lead to foot ulcers;
- nail and skin problems that require extra attention;
In addition, the chiropodist will advise you on the daily care of your feet and how you can prevent problems as far as possible.
