What is your role and what gives you energy in your work?

Together with a lovely colleague, I ensure that there are attractive, practical and comfortable shoe collections in the shops for our customers and patients. So I handle the purchasing, including all the associated procurement planning and calculations. In addition, together with the PR team, I ensure that our customers are aware of the various exciting promotions we run in-store and online. Those promotions, activities and SALES do, however, need to be organised and put into practice, which I also take care of together with other colleagues. As I used to be the owner of the shop in Heerlen, I also carry out any tasks that need assistance with, both on the shop floor and behind the scenes. When everyone is delighted by our beautiful collections – customers, but certainly also the shoe advisors and our podiatrists – it gives me a huge boost of energy!

What is your favourite quote, motto or tip to help people navigate life more easily?

Make sure you walk comfortably and healthily. That way, all the energy you save can go towards the fun things in life!

How can you tell from your work that it really suits you?

I can feel a genuine sense of joy when a customer is genuinely helped by wearing our shoes. When their pain symptoms are reduced and they experience greater self-confidence in whatever way that may be.

What do you do outside of work that people might not expect of you?

I have been singing classical music all my life. At the moment I am in an a cappella group, but sometimes I also sing on a project basis.
